Great Fun for a Great Cause

Are you looking for something fun to do this Saturday and also support a great cause, then you need to come out to the 6th Annual Charity Chili Cook-off! It is being held at the Park at Earlyhouse in Louisa County on Saturday from 12-5pm.

This event will benefit the National Kidney Foundation and the Virginia Transplant Center at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital.

Teams will be competing for bragging rites as the best Chili. There will be games and special “tricks and treats”, a juggler, music, a silent action and much more. It’s only $10 for adults and $5 for kids 3-12.

What a great time of year! Everyone I know loves fresh vegetables, but what do you do if you don’t grow your own?  There are plenty of Farmers’ Markets around the area where you can buy fresh vegetables, bread and other homemade items.  I was curious about when and where these markets were, so I thought I would look them up.

Virginia State Barbecue Championship, July 17th
